The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

It’s the last month of the year. I am gonna read whatever book I wanted to get to before this year is over. December is usually random for me! I wanted to read another Harlan Coben novel and borrowed this one from the library. THEN saw it was available on Scribd and went that route instead.

Looking back at my stats for this year I did more audiobooks than physical books (thanks to my library and Scribd) so I’ll probably choose some wintery thrillers to round out the year. I’m almost at 100 books read/listened to for the year, woohoo!

The library is great! I found 56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard on Hoopla and borrowed it. Such a great read! It feels so real because it takes place during the pandemic in Ireland. If you’re into thriller books please read this one.

I found this erotic read for free and just went for it. I haven’t read many, if any, ménage books so I wanted to try it out. This one was only 114 pages so this is why I chose it. And I enjoyed the book. Not sure I would continue with the series though.

I own both of these books, and want to read wintery books in the winter. I own paperback copies of both of these books so I want to prioritizing them as next. But I like my audiobooks! Gonna try my best.

Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments!

The Sunday Post #40

Good morning readers! Thanksgiving week was mega crazy, between family showing up and our regular after school activities. And I love my family but it’s a breathe of fresh air for them to have left this morning.

After church this morning we are gonna take down our Christmas tree and decorate it while listening to Christmas music. And watch Christmas movies at nighttime. Winning!

I started the HoHoHoRAT challenge, and I was totally doing good with it…. then the holiday showed up and I haven’t even FELT like picking up a book. I got a few more days to make a dent in the challenge so lets gooooooooo!!!!

Thanksgiving 2021

Good morning, readers!

Today is Thanksgiving! My parents showed up on Tuesday and will be staying with us until Sunday morning. My brother in law and his family got here Wednesday night and will be staying with us until Friday morning.

Needless to say, it’s been CHAOTIC around here!

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday (if you celebrate). If you’re overseas then I hope you have a great Thursday!

Gotta have a turkey reading picture lol! Hopefully I get to read before the night is over!!!

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

I am sticking with the Netgalley Christmas themed book and making my way through Christmas In The Scottish Highlands by Donna Ashcroft. I didn’t know what audiobook to go with next so I did a BOTM one I have and started 56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard. Hoopla had one available and I snagged it up lol.

Only the third book I’ve read this month *GASP* but let me tell you, I plan to now read all of Harlan Coben’s work because this one was so good!!!! Book two comes out at the beginning of next year and I am HERE for it!

The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews was an okay romance. Honestly, I gave it two stars on Goodreads. I didn’t hate it but it was just aaaiiiggghhhtt.

I own both of these books, and keeping with my wintery/Christmasy themed challenge (#HoHoHoRAT) I am prioritizing these to be my next reads no matter what. Plus I’m gonna see what else I have on my physical shelf and if I have any other Netgalley winter themed books on that shelf as well.

Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments!

Good morning readers! Last night was my wedding anniversary (the big seventeen lol) and the hubby and I just went out to dinner and had a relaxing evening.

Now it’s Thanksgiving week, and of course I’m gonna be super busy. My parents will be visiting for most of the week and I have my brother in law, his wife and kids coming over on Thursday.

I started the HoHoHoRAT challenge (winter/Christmasy themed books challenge), and I am doing well with it… but now that it’s the holiday week I hope I can still get pages in before the challenge is over.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

Still powering through this romance book. I am invested because the name Keanu Reeves is in the title. I keep reading it before bedtime so I keep falling asleep. Does that mean I am not into the book, or that I am just tired from the day? I’m gonna give it till the end of the week to seriously get into this one. I need to finish this one so I can finish up my BOTM yearly challenge. I’m determined!

Novel Suspects had their Jan 2022 ARC sign up the other day, and the book I chose was the second in a series, so I borrowed the audiobook from my library. It’s my first Harlan Coben book and after chapter two I was totally hooked!!!

My review of this book can be found on my blog [here]

Pretty sure that Jay Kristoff is a sore subject for some people… and I do not know why, as I keep myself out of the loop of author drama. I went into this series this February not knowing either one of these authors work(s). If this author ain’t for you, for whatever reason, then ignore my recommend.

Netgalley November is upon us! And so is my wintery/Christmasy books challenge (HoHoHoRAT starts tomorrow, lol). I am prioritizing these to be my next reads no matter what.

Review: Aurora’s End by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff #audible

Title: Aurora’s End
Author: Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Series: The Aurora Cycle #3
Published by: Knopf Books For Young Readers
Release Date: November 9, 2021
Rating: five stars
Note: I listened to this on Audible so that version was published by Listening Library

I was pretty sure last year that I saw this series was going to be a duology, so at the beginning of this year I listened to the first two books thanks to my library. The ridiculous cliffhanger at the end of book two put me in such a book slump it wasn’t even funny! I went to Google and found out that book three was coming out in November and I waited with anticipation. So much so that I joined Audible on November 8 to pre-order the audiobook (since my library wasn’t going to have it on release date) so I could listen the minute the book dropped. And listened I did! I set it on 1x speed so I could take my time and enjoy the ending to this epic saga (because I normally listen on 1.2x or 1.5x depending on how it’s recorded).

From Goodreads: “Is this the end?
What happens when you ask a bunch of losers, discipline cases, and misfits to save the galaxy from an ancient evil? The ancient evil wins, of course.
Wait. . . . Not. So. Fast.
When we last saw Squad 312, they working together seamlessly (aka, freaking out) as an intergalactic battle raged and an ancient superweapon threatened to obliterate Earth. Everything went horribly wrong, naturally.
But as it turns out, not all endings are endings, and the te4am has one last chance to rewrite theirs. Maybe two. It’s complicated.
Cue Zila, Fin, and Scarlett (and MAGELLAN!): making friends, making enemies, and making history? Sure, no problem
Cue Tyler, Kal, and Auri: uniting with two of the galaxy’s most hated villains? Um, okay. That, too.
Actually saving the galaxy, though?
Now that will take a miracle.”

I was really into the story from the get-go. The way the story was told, with cutesy jokes and good quips from the characters, was right up my alley. The cast is supposed to be teenagers so I liked that in the face of seriousness and impending doom they could be funny and real and raw with each other. Honestly, the voice narration from the entire cast was absolutely perfect *chefs kiss*. I think I fell in love with all the characters more because of their voice actor, honestly.

I rated the other two books in this series as five star reads as well as this one. And I do not give out five stars a lot. This whole story will stay with me and I like that in a series.

The Sunday Post #38

Good morning readers! I’ve been a busy girl, back at it again with school and work and life. But my reading has been productive also so that’s a plus. I just finished to the audio of Aurora’s End by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, and I am reading Netgalley books for Netgalley November challenge. I also have a holiday theme challenge I joined, but it starts in the middle of this week so I am holding some books off till that one starts.

Mailbox Goodies: Two Book of The Month books arrived, as well as my Dangerous Romance subscription box.

This is My Amazon Wishlist if you feel so inclined to send me something.

Library Haul: My library is having a challenge and I wanted to try it out. I did want to get into reading anime so this is the perfect opportunity!

I went with the basic Dragon Ball series. I have seen a few episodes of Dragon Ball Z cartoon as a teenager so I thought I’d start at the beginning and read when Goku was a child. I’m gonna start reading book 2 (because my library doesn’t own book 1) tomorrow after work.

Next Week On The Blog: Working on some content! Probably a review or two will be posted, and my usual link ups will be up.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

I caved and signed up for Audible just so I could listen to the third book in the Aurora Cycle series, Aurora’s End because it came out yesterday (I listened to the first two books thanks to my library so I haaaaaaaaaad to listen to this one). And I am one genre book away from finishing my Book of The Month yearly challenge so I just started How To Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days. Romances aren’t always my thing, but Keanu Reeves has been MY THANNNNNG since 1995 so yep, I was on this book like white on rice.

I gave this one four stars! This mystery book had my on the edge of my seat. I did figure out what was really going on at Widow Falls but I didn’t predict the ending which is a plus. A great Kiersten Modglin read, I highly recommend it!

Netgalley November is upon us! I am saving my wintery / Christmasy books for later in the month, for another challenge, so for now these thrillers will do.

Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments!
